DarkSoul VII - Metal Radio

I have been very impressed by the crew over at DarkSoul VII. The site is an extreme metal underground community that is constantly evolving and growing in order to provide top promotion for extreme metal bands. They are well on the way in amassing the most information and features for metal fans and have become a networking point for all things metal. Their bands, shows, venues, and music news pages function much like the Open Directory Project, anyone can add info to the database so that all can benefit through this metal collective. Unsanctified, SatansWhore and TerrOrgasm have not only put together an excellent metal resource and community, their live extreme metal feed has the best playlists I've heard around. Definitely worth checking out, DS7 is my pick for a complete extreme metal online radio and resource. We will be including their channel in our new EvolRadio script to be unveiled with the upcoming release of EvolCom V.1

We are 1 Year old!

Over the past 12 months of being online we had 126.422 unique clicks and have broadcast 54.370 shows of our server! Its not a bad start for a personal site dedicated to underground metal scene and run without any financial support, web team nor sponsors. Expect to see a new 'Content on Demand' focused site in our next upgrade when I add a database and do a rewrite to finally bring out the first full user friendly version.
Thanks for your continual support and look out for the end of the year special podcast!

Welcome to the show that burns.. Bitch! After 2 series and countless fuckups, we are back to spread more rage throughout the southern winter (or northern summer). To request bands for the new series, email evolgrinder @ evolgrinder.com.

Featured - NEFARIUM
It takes a while for any band with depth to find its soul. Those that take longer to mature usually sound that much sweeter when they do. Or should I say in this case, usually sound that much more deadly! Nefarium explodes into a new year with a monster of the album - Haeretichristus! Is this the moment in which the band emerges from the shadows and becomes a recognized force? With guest musicians such as Chaq Mol (Dark Funeral) and Infaustus (Setherial) this outfit delivers the extreme blackness with some heavy but epic riffing all nicely packaged and primed with intent to mass murder! Their latest rituals will be featured throughout early 08 on TWD shows .

Featured - DARKNOTE
Surprisingly refreshing and horribly honest, this tight new Thrash outfit from Iceland delivers some exciting and addictive Melodic Death tunes on a Demo? Yes, be not surprised if this band ends up playing some major gigs in not to distant future. There are all the right influences, great sound, enough ability and tons of fucking talent! We are proud to premiere Darknote on TWD shows for your headbanging pleasure. Darknote is simply... well, Metal!

Featured - WEVERIN
Weverin is a Satanic Machine... Our purpose is to push Black Metal, Satanism, esoterica, philosophy, and dream ausculation to the utter edge and then place a knife deep into it's spine. We answer only to Lord Lucifer!

Featured - KEEP OF KALESSIN
There is no substitute for experience and total dedication to your art and your principles. Throw in the mix the right amount of classic metal influences and a good awareness of the world around you and yes, there is such thing as being in the right place at the right time but its never exidental. Its usually brought on by much hard work and prudent planning! Keep Of Kalessin is of the right stock and destined for greatness. Their unrelenting onslaught of precision BM/Pagan riffing and passionate angst and despair ridden tunes coupled by haunted epic melodies are set to lift you out of your deepest misery and inject you with the blood of a million martyrs! Promoted since their inception they are again heavily featured on TWD shows with their Thor like 'Armada' release.

Featured - EXMORTUS
To state the obvious: west coast of the US has brought us some of the worst abominations in metal releases that often stop me from reviewing new acts from that side of Hell. However, Exmortus is a shining exception to the rule. After receiving their debut full length 'In Hatreds Flame' for a review, I find myself featuring an unsigned band on Evolgrinder.Com! Exmortus is technical yet melodic, brutal death draped in the darkest of shadows and blackness. Its trashy, intense and damn fast with all the ingredient of a classic heavy metal entity. It is its beauty of extreme guitar work and harmonies, grindy beats led by the growls of anger, torment and despair that makes Exmortus' In Hatreds Flame the classic self release from a young but mature band I will continue to feature on Destroyers during November and December.

Featured - DAWN OF AZAZEL
Dawn of Azazel is both busy and belittling, cruel and calculating, raw and refined; One of the most shockingly bold spins in the black/death underground - METAL MANIACS
Undoubtedly New Zealand's foremost extreme metal band in the mold of Behemoth and Krisiun which is consistently delivering quality technical brutality with precision and purpose! After extensive European and local tours, the set and their performances are extremely well polished. Tracks from Sedition, their March 2006 release are heavily featured on TWD shows.

Featured - KRODA
Taken from the band's home page : Kroda is not just music! It is the Nature of Our Fatherland, imbued with rawness of mists and swamps, with whispers of rivers and falling leaves, permeated by storms of winter blizzards and by rumbles of thunders. It is the ashes of burnt churches, brought to the soil by torrent streams of rain waters. It is the echoes of Ancient Battles for Our Native Land and for Our Blood. It is the gnash of swords, clash of battle axes and hissing of arrows, crushing and sweeping away all the hostile being from Our Land. It is the resounds of terrible battle outcry of Aryan Warriors Allfadr and the raging roar of Aryan Archetype Wolfish Nature. It is our view of the entire Universe.

Featured - AFFLICTION
Hailing from a brave new undiscovered metal country of Turkey, this band is destined to make a global impact. The cry for recognition was heard loud and clear guys! Affliction deliver the sweetest melodic death captured in some killer tunes like the ones delivered on their new album, Execution Is Necessary. Its the Swedish brutality meets eastern melodies. Its a trash with panache from hell. Tunes like 'Promised Land', 'Raven' and 'Retribution' first featured on The World Destroyers radio show Episodes 63, 64 and 67!

Featured - STORMRIDER
Formed in Stockholm, Sweden in February 1999, this trashy Black Metal outfit has had a tough time releasing their second album, “Lucifer Rising” now through newly formed Infernal Waves Records/Aural Offerings. It was well worth the wait though when it was finaly released in June this year. Their tracks are featured on the episodes 13, 15, 36, 40 and 59 of The World Destroyers radio show.

Featured - THYRUZ
One of Norway's few still undiscovered bands, Thyruz was formed in '99 and have just released their first full length called "Northern Blasphemy" through Twilight-Vertrieb records. Dark and bestial Black Metal with flare and imagination, delivered in the true Norwegian tradition and featured on The World Destroyers radio show!

Featured - DEFILED
Defiled is another word for brutality. Also excruciating, merciless and deadly precision. Trust me on this, their releases don't give justice to the way this band delivers live. Brutal technical death metal is launched with the Japanese precision and shoved down your throat like a fist full of hot coals. Although the boys haven't put out any releases of late, their first overseas tour of Korea and Australia has more then made up for that oversight. World Destroyers feature Defiled in the episodes 60 and 62 (with more to come) and look forward with grim anticipation to their next release.

Featured - ASTRIAAL
A steady string of releases including such Aussie classics as Summoning the Essence of Ancient Wisdom and constant flow of national tours helped spread the kult of Astriaal. Supports for such acts as Pungent Stench, Opeth, Incantation, Mystic Circle, Arcturus and Suffocation helped spread their legion across the globe.
Astriaal's creative black metal well does indeed run over and with almost an album's worth of new material they should be heading to the studio soon to record. Well when they can find time between the many gigs they presently have lined up.

Featured - BEHERIT
Harsh Black/Death Metal influenced by the likes of BLASPHEMY and SARCÓFAGO, a unique nefarious entity even to the standards of today. HORNY MALFORMITY became PSEUDO CHRIST and PSEUDO CHRIST became BEHERIT in 1990. Although their last two albums (in '94 and '96) were quite a departure from the vicious Black Metal they produced in the early 90's, the band has never-the-less influenced a generation with their earlier works! Their tribute material can be found on the episodes 36, 37, 44, 56 and 65 of The World Destroyers radio show and more of their earlier tracks will be featured in the near future.

Featured - THE FUROR
Hailing from Perth, Western Australia, The Furor has unleashed waves of hate driven metal on the local shores with the releases of Invert Absolute (2004) and Advance Australia Warfare (2005). Best described as a hyperactively vicious, bombastic fusion of extreme metal styles - high calibre chaos on chaos forged from years of Death/Black/Thrash worship and indulgence. The trio of Kill Machine, Kingslayer and Disaster are hell bent on annihilating your senses and have entrusted The World Destroyers to bring you previews of their new material from the upcoming full length release.

Featured - CEREMONIAL CASTINGS
Ceremonial Castings is probably one of the best Symphonic Black Metal bands on the planet today, certainly in the US. With their 2005 release Immortal Black Art and last year's Barbaric is the Beast they continue to deliver intensely brutal yet very melodic tunes. Staying true to the blackest of paths this insanely creative trio is led by the Superchi brothers and is one of the most requested bands on The World Destroyers.

Featured - CATAMENIA
Without doubt, the Melodic Black Metal is one of the more popular metal genres making waves around the world today. However, with so much filth out there its hard to find bands with melodies that don't suck. One of the few credible bands in that bunch is Catamenia from Finland. Playing usual low key and unassuming style we've come to expect from the Fins, Catamenia regularly delivers intense but extremely melodic tunes exemplified with their excellent 2006 release, Location: Cold.

Featured - PROFUNDI
Profundi is the most vicious incarnation of the former Naglfar's frontman Jens Ryden's brutal solo project where he's playing all guitars, keys and bass, as well as programming drums, doing artwork and of course singing. This amazing top shelf effort has culminated with one of the best releases of 2006, immaculate The Omega Rising. Although comparisons with Naglfar are inescapable, Profundi stands and delivers on its own terms. Rydén was one of the founding members and helped shape the bands sound into what it was at the time of him leaving around "Sheol" so of course the similarities will be there. However, seldom will you come across an individual effort as brilliant as this.

Featured - BURZUM
Artist's personal life is not featured here, but his music. Being one of the most influential Norwegian black metal exponents who's work has taken on legendary proportions, Varg Vikernes is even today, never far from grief. Unfortunately, his success was accompanied by great deal of controversy so his true musical influence, without the usually misinterpreted media reports, would probably never have been that great. However, between '91 and '98 he had released a body of work that would be considered by many to be the classics of modern times. He relished in the freedom that technology has brought to an individual artist and embraced the concept that was perfectly relevant to his times. Burzum's work is continually featured on The World Destroyers.

Featured - MORDICHRIST
There are no female fronted black metal bands in the world today as brutal as Sweden's Mordichrist, with Nenia's vocals sounding like a true witch from hell, they are the followers of the blackest of paths. The band became more or less well known to a wider audience in the summer of 2003 when their guitarist Chaq Mol joined the Swedish black metal legends Dark Funeral. With their new seven inch release Dressed In Menace out now and a full lenght due out sometime this year through Regain Records, they are well set to deliver evil en masse and establish themselves as the premium black metal act.
